I have a long practice of creating gestural ink drawings on paper. This practice started as a way to “warm-up”, like stretching for the creative mind and hand. But over years, it became a spiritual practice and a way of being present in the moment of mark-making. Many drawings get thrown away, many sit in drawers for years, and quite a few characters emerge that get reused in paintings and sculpture.
